Cambrian offers a comprehensive portfolio of cellulosic polymers to aid in tablet
binding and modified release formulations. These products include hydroxypropylcellulose
(HPC), hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC), ethylcellulose (EC), hydroxyethylcellulose
(HEC), microcrystalline cellulose and croscarmellose sodium. We also carry a full
line of phosphates and stearates for use as binders and release agents.
Cambrian offers a line of cellulose-based coatings. Depending upon the needs of
our clients, we can offer aesthetic coatings in any colour (synthetic or natural).
We can also offer functional coatings such as enteric, moisture guard, odour guard
or sustained release. Our flavours, natural colours and FD&C colours are also ideally
suited for tablet coatings.
Cambrian offers a unique range of pharmaceutical grade surfactants and emulsifiers
for use in prescription creams and semi-solid formulations. These include sorbitan
esters, polysorbates, ethoxylated fatty acids, alkyl polyglucosides, betaines and
guar gum. Many of these products meet the GMP pharmaceutical standards set out by
IPEC. This provides our clients with a high regulatory standard that conforms to
stringent excipient guidelines.
Cambrian offers pharmaceutical grades of CMC (carboxymethyl cellulose) to add viscosity
and mouthfeel to syrup formulations. Our expertise in high intensity sweetener applications
is valued by customers that use aspartame, sucralose and acesulfame potassium in
syrup formulations.
Cambrian provides a range of highly bioavailable minerals such as gluconates, glucoheptonates,
and glycerophosphates. These are offered in powders and, in some cases, can be provided
in liquid form.
Cambrian strives to provide new and innovative natural actives to our customers
in the Canadian market. We work closely with Health Canada to ensure that new ingredients
are approved for use in natural health products. Our natural actives include melon
juice concentrate, quinoa and acai extracts, as well as various polyphenols and
beta carotene.
